A roof consists of of two layers of protection – the tile layer and the felt layer beneath. The felt layer is very important as it takes any rainwater which penetrates the tile layer down to the gutters. The re-felting process involves removing the roof tiles and the old felt and installing a modern new felt (nowadays called a “breathable membrane”) before re-fitting the tiles or installing new tiles. This constitutes a complete renovation of the roof. At the same time, we can install new fascias and gutters if required.
